On one of those rare days, where I was feeling energetic, I saw the Ruby Lou Doll pattern at the fabric store. So I bought it, and made these dolls for the girls. They picked out all of their fabric, and were very particular about certain details! Yeah. Now I can say I have made a doll...2 dolls. They love them, that is the fun part!

A fresh flower wreath
The other day, my mom came over with all of the supplies to make her favorite wreath. She taught my sister and I how to make one, so hopefully I can share it with you so you can make your own.
You will need:
a wire wreath form
moss
potting soil
8-10 flowers
green flower wire
water
Ok..first you start with wet moss, and you lay it pretty side down on the counter
Lay your wreath form (the wire kind) over it
Now add potting soil over your wreath form, and pour water all over it.

once they are all there, one at a time, wrap the moss from the back around the base of the flowers,
securing at the top and bottom of each flower, with green flower wire
once you have them all in place, use that flower wire and secure all over the place
just wrap around and twist
once you have all the wire secured...use a pencil to curl the wire so it blends in
use multiple strands of the wire to make a hanging loop

and Voila...there you have it, your very own living wreath (that you need to remember to water, but it is so pretty you will want to water it!)

Painting Upholstery
Just trying something new...I bought these lovely chairs on craigslist, and then painted the upholstery! The texture definitely changes...kind of like outdoor furniture, but looks pretty darn good!
I used this tutorial, however...I skipped the acrylic paint step.
(I need to put the final picture with the cushion up...I will soon!)

Robbie's Favorite Things Party
When Robbie couldn't decide on his party theme, star wars legos or beyblades, we thought maybe he should have a party where he gets to do it all.
All of his Favorite Things!
All of his Favorite Things!
The border of the invitation was a list of all his favorite things, toys, activities, sports and food.
One of Robbie's favorite places to go is TOP IT frozen yogurt. So we made our own little yogurt bar.
12 different yogurt toppings including: blueberries, strawberries, sprinkles, cinnamon toast crunch, fruity pebbles, reeses, gummy bears, swedish fish, snickers, oreos, peanut butter chips, m&ms...I had other toppings, but I ran out of bowls!
There were about 20 kids, so I started off by dividing them in groups of 4. I gave them each a necklace (yarn with a color circle) and game card with their color. The game cards told them the order of events.
Then they got to play some of Robbies favorite things!
Beyblade Battles
Starwars legos
(I had them race to put the mini sets together fastest)
Wipeout Challenge
this was so fun for them...
they started out by army crawling under a bench, then riding the little RODY across the floor, box jumping back, climbing up a latter and ringing the bell on the ceiling, climbing back down, rolling the ball, through the box tunnel and DONE. they were timed and had 2 chances to get their best time!
Basketball Tournament
double shot...everyones dream
Angry Birds Game
we used a slingshot to fling angry birds at a stack of cardboard bricks
They got a sticker at every station
After they were all done, we sent them outside for an ASTROID HUNT
aluminum balls were made around pieces of candy and hidden all around the back yard.
After the astroid hunt, they had their top it ice cream
